Details on other problems with the building
The building was built in the beginning of the 20th century, and is a historic and architectural landmark. Yet it is now in accident condition. Frequently during large rains the water ruins the building framings. Multiple written requests to the municipal services all led to nothing.
It is necessary also to take to account that the premises occupied by the Human Rights House are not sufficient for normal disposition of all staff and volunteers as well as for the work of the Public Reception, which is attended by 10-15 visitors daily. Now more than 25 employees and 10-15 volunteers of associated organizations work on the area of 120 square meters.
Annually in the Human Rights House there are training courses for activists from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Germany and other countries of Europe; students of Voronezh universities and colleges and many other events. Annually more than 1500 visitors get legal help there free of charge. Besides, youth meetings and seminars are regularly conducted. It is evident that for the activity of this kind the premises are not sufficient.
To keep the Human Rights House as a lively and growing community, for it to continue its work in a more effective way – your help is needed!
